Jean ADER's paintings can be divided into 4 categories:
Mostly landscapes from the old French province of Gascony
in the south-west of France where the artist lives.
These landscapes often include a path, a lake or a stretch of
smooth water and they make you feel as if you are taking
a pleasant walk.
Anonymous feminine nudes. The shapes and volumes are
''sculptured'' in the paintings thanks to the colours and the
light. They are not provocative, but suggest only softness.
The creations are ideas expressed on the canvas by the
artist. There is no association between them. Do not look
for the teaching of an art college; they are just simple ideas,
sometimes even eccentric ideas.
Each painting asks a question : who is coming down the
stairs? Who did not close this door? The artist likes in this
way to leave his viewers the possibility of imagining what
follows.
A fifth category showing garden sculptures made by the artist is just to be
considered as an exhibition, they all belong to private gardens.
The expressions ''huile/toile'' or ''huile/bois'' mean "oil/canvas'' or ''oil/wood''.
The dimensions are in centimetres; the prices are in euros, they do not
include postage and packing. In metropolitan France it is a fixed sum (further
information on the CONTACT page). Charges for delivery to Dom-Tom and
Foreign countries priced separately.
